Is it permissible to eat meat imported from countries like Brazil or France, knowing that there is meat available that is said to be slaughtered in Japan according to Islamic Sharia, even though some brothers do not trust that?

It is permissible to eat the meat of animals slaughtered by disbelievers under certain conditions: that the slaughterer be from the People of the Book, that the slaughter is not for other than Allah, and that the slaughter is performed according to the Sharia (definition) method by cutting the jugular veins and the windpipe for cattle, sheep, and birds, and by Nahr (stabbing the throat) for camels.
