Is it considered a distortion of the verse (بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ - Rather, you were astonished, and they scoff) to read it with a fatḥah over the the letter "tāʾ" (عَجِبْتَ), addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him), or with a ḍammah over the letter "tāʾ" (عَجِبْتُ), attributing astonishment to Allah?

Indeed, the recitation of (بَلْ عَجِبْتُ وَيَسْخَرُونَ) with a Dammah on the letter Taa’ (بَلْ عَجِبْتُ) is an authentic and widely transmitted (Mutawatir) recitation. Wonder (Al-Ajab) is an attribute firmly established for Allah Almighty, befitting His majesty, and is not like the wonder of creation.
