Does an expiatory offering (kaffara) for breaking an oath become obligatory for someone who said, "O Lord, I promise You that I will not commit a sin, and indeed I love this thing very much, and I said: O Lord, if I do it, then deprive me of it," then committed the sin and repented with sincere repentance? And will Allah be angry with him and deprive him of what he loves?

Fulfilling a promise is a characteristic of believers, while breaking it is a characteristic of hypocrites. And fulfilling the promise made to Allah Almighty is even more deserving. Whoever repents sincerely from a sin and promises Allah to abandon it, has no expiation other than sincere repentance. For whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better. And Allah accepts repentance from His servants and pardons evil deeds. The one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin.
