What should a thirteen-year-old boy do when he is asked to be a musician, and his father is bothered by his refusal?

Practicing playing musical instruments (alahat al-lahw) is forbidden according to the four imams and the majority of scholars. It is not permissible to obey one's parent in this matter, because there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator. The questioner should gently explain to his father that another future would be more beneficial for Muslims and better for both of them in this world and the hereafter, while gently and kindly mentioning the sayings of the scholars regarding musical instruments.
