Is it true that addressing ants by saying, "O ant, daughter of ants, leave my house at once, or else I will send against you the soldiers of Solomon," expels them from the house?

This widespread story about expelling ants from homes is a myth. Communicating with animals and understanding their speech is a miracle exclusively granted by Allah to His prophets David, Solomon, and Muhammad, peace be upon them. The saying, "O ant, daughter of ants, leave my house immediately, or else I will send Solomon's soldiers upon you," is a lie. Solomon's soldiers consisted of jinn, humans, and birds, and this was a unique dominion granted specifically to him. It is not permissible to draw an analogy between this and the warning given to snakes, as that occurred in a specific time and place where the snakes were jinn who had embraced Islam. It is not permissible for a rational Muslim to do that. Ants should be repelled using available methods without killing them. If they cannot be repelled except by killing, then it is permissible to kill them with pesticides and other means, but not by burning.
