Is the name “Al-Nasir” (The Helper/Victor) among the Beautiful Names of Allah, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the Hadith of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah: “I am the Messenger of Allah, and I do not disobey Him, and He is my Helper (Nasiri)”?

Some scholars have adopted the permissibility of naming Allah the Almighty as "Al-Nasir" (The Helper/Victor), because it carries the meaning of "Al-Nasir" (The Supporter) and "Al-Wali" (The Protector/Guardian), both of which are among Allah's Most Beautiful Names. This is also because Allah is truly "Al-Nasir". They supported their view with statements from some scholars and prophetic traditions.

However, others prohibited naming Allah as "Al-Nasir" because it is not explicitly mentioned in the Qur'an or Sunnah, and Allah's names are divinely ordained (Tawqifiyyah). Nevertheless, they permitted its use as a descriptive attribute.

The more cautious approach is to avoid using it as a name initially. However, there is no harm in retaining the name for someone who was previously named with it, if changing it would cause hardship.
