What is the ruling on looking at the female teacher during the lesson?

A Muslim must lower their gaze from forbidden things, in compliance with the Almighty's saying: "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze." The Prophetic hadiths have warned against letting one's gaze roam freely, for it is the adultery of the eye and "a poisoned arrow from the arrows of Iblis." Scholars have made exceptions for looking at those who are not typically desired, such as old women and young girls, and in cases of necessity, such as a doctor or a female witness. If the female teacher is an old woman who is not desired, it is permissible to look at her out of necessity. However, if she is young and there is a fear of temptation from her, then it is not permissible for her to teach men unless there is a barrier or in a case of extreme necessity. If these conditions are not met, you should seek another school.
