The answer

Surat Al-Kafirun is interpreted as a disavowal of the actions of the polytheists and a command for sincerity. The address is directed at the disbelievers of Quraish, in which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, disavowed the worship of idols, and clarified that the disbelievers do not worship Allah alone. Worship is of two types: the worship of Allah by the Messenger and his followers according to what He has legislated, and the worship of others besides Allah by the polytheists according to what He has not permitted. Hence, it was said to them: "To you be your religion, and to me be my religion."
