What is the ruling on working for a car design company, if it owns a share in another company that manufactures military aircraft and missiles, and is it permissible for others to seek employment there?

It is permissible for a Muslim to work as an employee for a non-Muslim, provided that the work does not involve anything forbidden, such as pressing wine, herding swine, or spying on Muslims. Also, the work should not involve personal service to non-Muslims, such as serving food and drink or standing before them. If the employment contract is free from these prohibitions, then it is permissible, and the money earned from it is lawful. The evidence for this is the work of Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, for a Jew in exchange for dates. If the employment contract includes a prohibition, then it is not permissible to undertake the work in the first place. If one does work, he should take his wages and give them away in charity. Car design is originally permissible, so there is no objection to continuing this work or to others joining it.
