What are the third eye and astral projection, and what is their ruling in Islam?

The "third eye" that neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) specialists speak of is claimed to be located on the forehead between the eyes. It is asserted that by closing one's eyes and concentrating energy and thought, a person can achieve vision through it. They claim that whoever activates it gains abilities such as seeing the future, reading thoughts, knowing events, moving objects, recalling the past, and seeing the aura around the human body. These claims are baseless fantasies and contradict Islamic law, similar to astral projection and the ethereal body.
