Is the prayer of one who habitually masturbates valid?

Prayer is obligatory for every Muslim who is an adult and of sound mind; it is not waived under any circumstances. It is not permissible to be negligent in it under any excuse, such as illness, travel, or fear. Committing sins like "masturbation" is not an excuse for abandoning prayer. Rather, the sinner must hasten to establish it and maintain it within the Muslim community. And whoever masturbates must perform ghusl (ritual bath) before praying.
