What is the ruling on remaining silent in the face of injustice, and is a person cursed if they witness injustice and remain silent about it?

Enjoining good and forbidding evil is established by the Quran, Sunnah, and the consensus of the Ummah. It is a communal obligation (fard kifaya), and if no one undertakes it, it becomes an individual obligation (fard ayn) upon the capable. Its obligation is not waived except out of fear of greater or equal mischief or harm. Beating children for discipline is permissible with certain conditions: it should not be severe, should not be on the face, and should be for discipline, not out of malice. A child must be disciplined with beating if there is no alternative. As for those who are not one's children, it is not permissible to beat them except with the permission of their guardians. The authority to discipline is vested in the Imam and his deputies, in the guardian, in the teacher with the guardian's permission, and in the husband over his wife within the framework of marital rights.
