Is it necessary for the agent to know the reason for feeding the poor, or is the principal's intention sufficient?

It is permissible for the one obligated to pay expiation (kaffarah) to appoint someone else as an agent to deliver it to the deserving recipients. The person paying the expiation must have the intention (niyyah) when disbursing it. The agent's intention is not a condition, as their role is merely to deliver the expiation. The intention of the principal, made when handing the expiation to the agent, is sufficient, as long as that intention is maintained. It is not a condition for the intention to coincide with the act of giving; rather, it is permissible for the intention to precede it.
