Was our master Ishmael, peace be upon him, a messenger as mentioned in Surat Maryam, verse 54: (And mention in the Book Ishmael; indeed, he was truthful in [his] promise, and he was a messenger, a prophet), bearing in mind that it is well-known he was a prophet but not a messenger? And does verse 51 from the same surah: (And mention in the Book Moses; indeed, he was chosen, and he was a messenger, a prophet) apply to the same situation?

Ismail (peace be upon him) was a prophet and a messenger, truthful in promise, who enjoined prayer and zakat (definition) upon his family, as stated in the Almighty's saying: "And mention in the Book Ismail. Indeed, he was truthful in [his] promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet. And he used to enjoin on his family prayer and zakat and was to his Lord pleasing." He was sent to the tribes of Jurhum, the Amalekites, and the people of Yemen. Similarly, Moses (peace be upon him) was a prophet and a messenger, and he was among the Ulul Azm (those of strong will) among the messengers.
