The answer

No comprehensive book containing the sayings of Luqman the Wise has been found. However, some of his words exist in the Holy Quran, such as Allah Almighty's saying: (O my son! Do not associate anything with Allah. Indeed, association [with Him] is a great injustice.) and (O my son! Establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, that is [part of] the matters [requiring] determination. And do not turn your cheek in contempt toward people or walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like every self-deluded and boastful [person].) Some of his sayings are also found in books of (exegesis) and some books of , such as Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Abd al-Razzaq, and Shu'ab al-Iman. Many sayings are attributed to him in books like Hilyat al-Awliya' by Abu Nu'aym al-Asbahani and Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din by Al-Ghazali, though caution must be exercised regarding the authenticity of these attributions.
