Man-made laws are not all the same regarding the obligation to adhere to them or not. Some must be adhered to and cannot be violated, such as traffic laws, as they achieve a benefit and do not contradict the law of Allah the Almighty. Others are not obligatory to adhere to and may be violated; however, if a Muslim fears that such a violation will put him in a difficult situation, he should not debase himself.
