What is the ruling on ignoring man-made laws that are not based on God's law (Sharia), especially if a person is wronged in their livelihood as a result of their application?

Man-made laws are not all the same regarding the obligation to adhere to them or not. Some must be adhered to and cannot be violated, such as traffic laws, as they achieve a benefit and do not contradict the law of Allah the Almighty. Others are not obligatory to adhere to and may be violated; however, if a Muslim fears that such a violation will put him in a difficult situation, he should not debase himself.
