What is the ruling on marrying a Christian woman who used to work in an inappropriate place but stopped doing so, and then what happened between you before marriage happened, and then you married her and discovered that she has a child from another person as a result of an assault, and she is now living with you and wants to remain married to you and is learning about Islam?

A Muslim man's marriage to a woman of the People of the Book is not permissible unless she is chaste. If you married her before she repented from fornication, then the marriage is invalid. If she repents and you wish to remain with her, you must perform a new marriage contract. Unchaste women are not permitted in marriage until they repent. A child born of fornication is attributed solely to his mother.
