What is the ruling on selling sweets that have fallen on them peelings or black spots as a result of the trays rubbing against the iron inside the oven or the tray holder?
If the peels or black spots in the product do not harm the consumer and people are not repulsed by them, then there is no objection to this industry. However, if they are harmful, then their sale must be stopped, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There should be no harm nor reciprocating harm." If they are not harmful but people find them unappealing, then their nature must be clarified at the time of sale by writing it on the packaging, because the seller must clarify what the buyer dislikes about the commodity. If the employer does not agree to this, then it is obligatory to leave work with him because it is an aid to sin, and Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
