What should I do about my long working hours that prevent me from dedicating myself to worship and instill worldly concerns in my heart, despite my attempts to reduce these hours?
We were created to worship Allah alone. Worship encompasses all aspects of life, and a Muslim can transform their entire life into an act of worship by having a good intention in their ordinary deeds. Examples include intending to work to earn lawful money and spend on oneself and fulfill obligations, and intending to eat, drink, and sleep to gain strength for obeying Allah, as Mu'adh said: "Indeed, I seek reward for my sleep just as I seek reward for my standing (in prayer)." Therefore, it is advisable to have a good intention in all actions, and to uphold the rights of Allah and His servants, while being careful not to let one's heart become attached to this world, and not to be heedless of the remembrance of Allah, as Allah the Almighty described a people: "Men whom neither commerce nor selling distracts from the remembrance of Allah."
