The answer

There are many ways of investment because the basic principle in transactions is permissibility. As for usurious investment methods, they include every transaction that involves usury, such as selling a usurious item for a usurious item with a differential or equal amount on credit, or selling a usurious item for another at a deferred payment, or lending with the condition of an increase, or Bay' al-Inah (a type of sale with repurchase), or Bay' al-Muzabanah (a type of bartering involving unknown quantities); this is due to the ignorance of equivalence which takes the place of knowledge of differential.
