What is the ruling on being exposed to the early autumn chill, and is it a Prophetic Sunnah?

There is no Hadith indicating that it is sunnah to expose oneself to the cold at the beginning of autumn. This is permissible, but if done with the intention of drawing closer to Allah, it becomes an innovation (bid'ah). What is authentically reported in the Sunnah is exposure to the first rain.
