When was the era of the Tabi' al-Tabi'in, and who was the most famous among them?

The era of the Tabi' al-Tabi'in (successors of the successors) is the era that follows the era of the Tabi'in (successors). It approximately begins in the year 170 AH and extends to around 220 AH. Among the most famous of the Tabi' al-Tabi'in are: Imam Malik, Muhammad al-Baqir, Ja'far al-Sadiq, Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, al-Awza'i, al-Layth ibn Sa'd, and Abu Yusuf.
