Are the obsessive thoughts I experience regarding the evil eye and envy, which prevent me from embarking on any trade or work, considered obsessive-compulsive disorder or not?
Protection from the evil eye is prescribed by consistently reciting the prescribed remembrances (adhkar) and seeking refuge (ta'awwudhat). It is not possible to diagnose the condition as either envy or obsessive-compulsive disorder. Specialists in (Islamic exorcism/healing) and medicine can be consulted. Performing ruqyah is prescribed, whether by the person themselves or by someone else known for their uprightness. One should also frequently supplicate to Allah, asking for well-being, give charity, drink Zamzam water, and maintain the remembrances, especially the morning and evening adhkar and the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas), in addition to adhering to religious obligations and avoiding sins.
