Is it permissible to bring a television into the home for the husband to stay in instead of spending most of his time outside watching football, especially since the wife is alone and has no children?

Playing football is permissible or forbidden depending on the player's adherence to Sharia guidelines. A wise person should not be preoccupied with playing or watching it, as it wastes time, and this is a dereliction of duty from the husband towards his family. It is not advisable to bring a television into the home due to its negative effects. The husband's problem may not be limited to the absence of a television; therefore, the wife should seek ways to encourage her husband to stay home, such as good treatment, attention, and adornment. The sister should utilize her time in what benefits her, such as memorizing the Quran, attending lectures, and learning household crafts.
