What is the ruling on saying "Ya Salam" (Oh Peace) or "Ya Salam Sallim" (Oh Peace, grant peace) when disapproving, reprimanding, or expressing joy, and saying "Salam" (Peace) or "Salami" (My peace/greetings) when admiring?

There is no objection to saying: "Ya Salam Sallim (O Peace, grant safety)" during critical situations, because it is a supplication to Allah Almighty for safety from all fears or dislikes. And "As-Salam" is one of Allah's names, and the supplication of the Messengers on the Day of Judgment at the Sirat (bridge over Hell) was reported as: "Allahumma Sallim Sallim (O Allah, grant safety, grant safety)."

There is also no objection to saying: "Ya Salam (O Peace)" when expressing astonishment, just as the speaker might say: "Ya Allah (O Allah)."

However, saying: "Salam (peace)" or "Salami (my peace)" when expressing astonishment or admiration for something, does not have a clear basis.

What is prescribed when seeing something admirable is to supplicate for blessings.
