What is the ruling on abandoning the study of engineering, funded by a scholarship, in favor of studying Sharia, while fearing the loss of the amounts paid by the financier?

Religious sciences are the best sciences, and worldly sciences, such as engineering, are communal obligations (fard kifayah) for which one is rewarded if accompanied by good intention. If the engineering specialization is not suitable for a woman and involves mixing (of genders), we advise against it. However, if it is suitable for a woman and free from prohibitions, we advise continuing with it to please the mother, and religious knowledge can be acquired through other means. If your university studies were funded by a donation conditioned on continuing your studies, you have the right to withdraw from your studies, inform the donor, and return the funds to him if he requests them.
