Is there an authentic Hadith concerning the virtue of burying the deceased, or one who died, in Mecca or Medina, and is there any basis in the Sunnah for transporting the deceased from outside the Two Holy Sanctuaries to be buried within them?

The jurists have agreed upon the desirability of burial in the graveyards of the righteous and in virtuous places. Among their proofs are:

Ibn Umar's Hadith (definition): "Whoever is able to die in Medina, let him die there; for I will intercede for whoever dies there." Umar ibn al-Khattab's supplication: "O Allah, grant me martyrdom in Your path, and make my death in the city of Your Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him." The prayer of Musa, peace be upon him, to his Lord to bring him closer to the Holy Land, which indicates the desirability of burial in virtuous places. Umar ibn al-Khattab's eagerness to be buried next to the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abu Bakr. The نقل (transfer) of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas and Sa'id ibn Zayd from al-Aqiq to be buried in Medina. The hope that the deceased will attain benefit by being near the righteous, and be exposed to the supplications of the good people. The action of the early Muslims (Salaf) in choosing virtuous burial places.

The jurists of the four madhhabs have explicitly stated this desirability.
