Do the number of verses in the Qur’an differ in the mushafs circulated in the Islamic world?

Ibn al-Arabi believes that counting the verses is one of the intractable issues of the Quran. This difference does not discredit the Quran; rather, it stems from the scholars' disagreement in counting some verses, which might sometimes be counted as a single verse and at other times as more, while they all agree that everything is Quran, with no addition or subtraction from it.
