Whoever possesses two types of wealth must combine them to complete the nisab. The separation of wealth is not taken into consideration, nor is it relevant if one of them did not reach the nisab on its own, as long as they collectively reach it after being combined. As for the hawl (one-year period), each type of wealth has its own specific hawl, unless one is a direct derivative of the other.
