Disputes regarding rights and inheritances are to be presented before the court. A child is attributed to the owner of the bed (the husband) if born six months after the possibility of the husband's intercourse, and his lineage cannot be disproven except through immediate li'an (oath of condemnation). Otherwise, he is attributed to the husband by virtue of the bed, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The child is for the bed, and for the adulterer is the stone." It is not permissible to rely on DNA analysis to disclaim lineage that has been established by Sharia.
