What is the ruling on interpreting the verse of smoke (Dukhan) on the Day of Resurrection as nuclear winter?

It is not correct to interpret the verse as deviating from what the Arabs and early Muslims knew. The exegetes mentioned three interpretations for the verse: (The Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke):

1. What befell the people of Mecca of severe hunger, to the extent that it became as if there was a smoke-like appearance between them and the sky, due to the Prophet's supplication against them. 2. It refers to the Day of the Conquest of Mecca, when clouds veiled the sky. 3. It is a smoke that will afflict people on the Day of Resurrection, affecting the believer like a cold and inflating the disbeliever.
