What are the pillars of Tawhid Al-Uluhiyyah?
Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of God's Lordship) is to single out Allah Almighty for worship, both in word and deed. Shirk (polytheism) in Uluhiyyah has several types, including shirk in supplication (du'a) or ritual sacrifice (nusuk), shirk in intention, will, and purpose, shirk in love, and shirk in obedience. Based on this, the foundations of Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah are singling out Allah in supplication and ritual sacrifice, in intention, will, and purpose (sincerity), in love or allegiance (walayah), and in obedience. These divisions are derived from Quranic verses such as: "Say, 'Is it other than Allah I should take as a protector, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, while it is He who feeds and is not fed?'" (Quran 6:14), and "Shall I then seek a judge other than Allah, while it is He who has sent down to you the Book explained in detail?" (Quran 6:114), and "Say, 'Indeed, I have been commanded to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion'" (Quran 39:11), and "Say, 'Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds'" (Quran 6:162).
