How many pillars of Tawhid are there?

The word of Monotheism (Tawhid) has two pillars: negation and affirmation. This means negating divinity from anything other than Allah and affirming it for Him. It is disbelief in Taghut (false deities/tyrants) and belief in Allah. The verses indicate that the reality of Tawhid is achieved by affirming worship to Allah alone and negating it from everything else. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that Tawhid is the coupling of negation with affirmation, negating the worship of anything other than Allah and affirming His worship. Tawhid is only complete when it includes both negation and affirmation. If, however, Tawhid is meant to refer to faith (Iman), then its pillars are six: belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree, both its good and its evil.
