1- Does shaving the beard during the daytime in Ramadan break one's fast?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Shaving the beard is unlawful because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded that it be left to grow and that we should differ from the polytheists. It is also one of the acts of fitra (natural disposition). A fasting person must avoid what Allah has forbidden, for piety is the fruit of fasting. And whoever does not abandon false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need for him to abandon his food and drink. Nevertheless, shaving the beard does not invalidate the fast, nor does it necessitate making up the fast. However, the one who does it must repent and abandon this sin immediately.
