To what extent is the hadith and supplication, narrated from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, sound, which begins with "Jibreel, peace be upon him, descended upon me while I was behind the Maqam," and contains great virtues and rewards for whoever recites it or writes it, and the supplication begins with "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, Glory be to Him whose Throne is in the heavens" and ends with Ayat al-Kursi?

The hadith was not narrated in this form in the books of Sunnah. The supplication mentioned, beginning with: "Glorified is He whose Throne is in the heaven..." was mentioned by Al-Shawkani in "Al-Fawa'id al-Majmu'ah," who attributed it to Al-Uqayli from Ibn Mas'ud as a marfu' hadith (attributed to the Prophet), and stated that its chain of narration contains weakness. While Al-Albani mentioned that reciting this supplication with these ten words a thousand times on the night of Arafah is among the innovations of Arafah.
