It is impermissible to draw animate beings, whether complete or incomplete to an extent that does not affect their life, even if for amusement. It is permissible to draw a face, a head, or any limb separated from the body. Drawings in which the lines of the body of animate beings are not connected also do not fall under the prohibition. As for photographic and video images, the preponderant opinion is that they are permissible, unless they display something forbidden, and it is permissible to keep them.
