Dealing with someone whose money is entirely unlawful is impermissible, and it is not permissible to accept their gifts. As for someone whose money is mixed, partly lawful and partly unlawful, if the transaction involves the unlawful money itself, then it is impermissible. However, if the transaction does not involve the unlawful money itself, then the majority of scholars consider it to be disliked (makruh), while Ibn Hazm held it to be permissible, citing the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who bought food from a Jew. It is advisable to continue advising them.
