The answer

If the young man is certain of his innocence, he should repel the whisperings (waswas) and increase his remembrance of Allah (dhikr) before sleep. However, if he is not certain and believes himself to be the cause, then his responsibility is not absolved by a judge's ruling, because a judge's ruling does not make unlawful things lawful. This is based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "I am only a human being, and it may be that one of you is more eloquent in his argument than another. So, if I rule in favor of someone a portion of his brother’s right, then I am only cutting off for him a portion of hellfire." Therefore, he must confess, and the blood money (diyah) becomes incumbent upon his 'aqilah (male relatives on the father's side) for the family of the girl, and expiation (kaffarah) is incumbent upon him.
