What is the 'iddah (waiting period) for a woman who has sought divorce from her husband (khula') and has reached menopause at the age of 50, and is it permissible for her to marry after one month, according to the Maliki school of thought?

The waiting period (iddah) for a woman who has despaired of menstruation is, by consensus, three months, based on the Almighty's saying: "And those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, if you have doubts, their waiting period is three months, and also those who have not menstruated." It is not permissible for anyone other than the husband to marry a Khul'-divorced woman who has despaired of menstruation after only one month of her waiting period has passed.
