What is the expiation for someone who swore on the Qur'an with the intention of opening a shop, then, after swearing, decided not to open it? And what is the ruling of Islamic law on this situation?

If a person swears not to do something and then does it, he has broken his oath and must offer expiation (kaffarat yameen). This expiation consists of feeding ten poor persons, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. If he cannot find any of these, then he must fast for three days. It is also necessary to repent to Allah Almighty for swearing not to do something that one intends and resolves to do, for this is impermissible and entails sin.
