Is a wife considered divorced if her husband expels her from the home, refuses to provide for her, and then tells her, "You are like a divorced woman"?

Financial support (nafāqa) is obligatory for the husband and is only forfeited if the wife is disobedient (nāshiz). If the husband expels her, he is obligated to provide for her. The wife must return to the marital home; if she refuses without a valid excuse, her right to financial support is forfeited. The husband's statement, "You are like a divorced woman," is a كناية (kinaya - an ambiguous or indirect expression) of divorce, and divorce does not occur by it unless the husband intended divorce by it.
