Is it permissible to destroy pigeon eggs to reduce the large numbers of flocks when it is difficult to catch and slaughter them?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Pigeons are a nation among nations, and it is not permissible to transgress against them or their eggs except for a preponderant benefit or to ward off harm. Destroying their eggs is corruption on earth and destruction of progeny, which is forbidden in the Qur’an. Nevertheless, everything in the universe is subservient to humans, so if pigeons cause definite harm, there is no sin in destroying their eggs if that is the only way to remove the unbearable harm.
