How can an atheist man, who has a Buddhist background and possesses some good qualities, be convinced of the necessity of religion and Islam, taking into account his repeated excuses of lack of time and his being influenced by others' opinions about Islam?

Those qualified individuals who are not swayed by the specious arguments of the misguided should undertake the task of inviting atheists to Islam. An atheist can be encouraged to embrace Islam by discussing Allah's cosmic signs, manifestations of His blessings, prophetic miracles, and the grandeur of the Qur'an. To understand this matter, some references are suggested. A sound innate disposition (fitra) calls for adherence to virtuous ethics and conviction in Islam, for Allah Almighty has created His creation upon His Oneness and servitude to Him, but the human and jinn devils have led them astray. The fitra is the innate disposition prepared to accept religion; it is what Allah has ingrained in humans as a capacity for knowing faith; it is the state upon which Allah creates a human, or the nature upon which a human is created; it is the soundness of the heart and its acceptance of the truth, which is Islam. The friend's sorrow is a good sign, and it resembles the state of the Messengers who feared torment for their peoples.
