Why is polytheism considered the greatest injustice?

Shirk (polytheism) is the darkest of injustices for several reasons:

1. It is likening a created being to the Creator in divine attributes, which is the greatest injustice. Allah Almighty says: (Indeed, shirk is a great injustice).

2. It is a deficiency and a blemish from which the Lord, glorified be He, has absolved Himself.

3. The polytheist does not glorify the Lord Almighty nor is sincere in his love for Him, due to the love and veneration of his idols that mixes with his heart.

4. He harbors evil suspicions about Allah. Allah Almighty says: (And [that He may] punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the polytheist men and polytheist women who assume about Allah an evil assumption. Upon them is a circle of evil. And Allah has become angry with them and has cursed them and prepared for them Hell, and a wretched destination).

5. Engaging in it plunges the individual and society into accumulated darkness.
