Is it permissible for a young man in his twenties, who leads people in Tarawih prayers only, to record Quranic recitations with his voice, despite some scholars warning him against falling into conceit and showing off because he is still a beginner in seeking knowledge?

Hypocrisy (Riyaa') is one of the most dangerous diseases of the heart, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against it and taught us a supplication to protect ourselves from it: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating partners with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know." It has been said: "Abandoning an action for the sake of people is hypocrisy (riyaa'), performing an action for the sake of people is polytheism (shirk (definition)), and sincerity is for Allah to protect you from both." So, if you know yourself to be sincere and do not care about people's praise or blame in your worship, then proceed with what you intended. However, if you fear hypocrisy, it is better to conceal your worship and recitation, because privacy is better for one who fears hypocrisy, and openness is better for one who does not fear it.
