Is it permissible for a group of 9 people to meet weekly to recite the Quran, present a lesson chosen by one of them, and then conclude with supplication?

There is no harm in gathering to recite the Quran, for it is a great act of worship. Holding a weekly lesson is permissible, based on the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud, who used to admonish his companions every Thursday for fear of boring them. There is no objection to concluding the gathering with supplication.
