If a person finds a lost sheep, it is preferable for him to eat it after estimating its value, or sell it and keep its price, or keep it for the period of public announcement. Leaving it exposes it to perishing. If its owner comes, he can reclaim it, its value, or its price. If he does not come, then it belongs to the one who found it.
