Will the parents of the Hafiz of the Qur’an wear the crown of dignity on the Day of Resurrection if the memorization was in old age, or is that restricted only to those who memorized the Qur’an as a child?

The Hadith that speaks about the reward for memorizing the Qur’an does not specify an age for the memorizing child. The condition is that the child recites the Qur’an, learns it, and acts upon what is in it. His saying, "Whoever recites the Qur’an," means that he recites it slowly and distinctly, because he deserves honor. His saying, "and acts upon what is in it," refers to its morals, manners, and rulings. And his saying, "his parents will be adorned with a crown on the Day of Resurrection," refers to a real adornment with a crown of gold and jewels, whose light is more beautiful than the light of the sun, and is not merely a metaphor for happiness.
