How can I repent, and what if I am unable to seek forgiveness from those I have wronged?

Repentance is returning to Allah from disobedience to obedience. It is beloved by Allah and obligatory upon every Muslim, and it is a cause for success.

Do not despair of Allah's mercy, and hasten to sincere repentance, for Allah forgives all sins. The door to repentance is open as long as the servant has not rattled in their throat (at the time of death) or the sun has not risen from the west.

Sincere repentance includes: regretting sins, abandoning them out of fear of Allah, resolving not to return to them, and restoring injustices to their rightful owners or seeking their forgiveness. If the injustice was in the form of backbiting and one fears harm, they should supplicate for them, seek forgiveness for them, and mention their good qualities. If one took money wrongfully, they should return it to its owners or their heirs; if that is not possible, they should give it in charity on their behalf. The one who repents should also increase in good deeds.
