The minimum period for human creation to become apparent is eighty-one days, which is the preferred view of the Hanbalis. Therefore, if a woman miscarries after three months from the beginning of her pregnancy, she is considered to be in a state of nifas, and she should refrain from prayer and fasting, then make up for the missed fasting after she becomes pure.
